Santa Cruz Island it is the second largest island in Galapagos that is the reason it has many different vegetation zones from sea level to the highlands.
We have much different population of giant tortoises and land iguanas in the Archipelago, and Santa Cruz Island is the best one to see this iconic reptiles living in the wild.
This last two day we have spent two days on the same island visiting the southern and the northern most part of this Island.
It is very impressive to observe such an amazing and drastic change in between the north and the south of the same Island.
The prevailing winds comes from the southeast, making one side of the island lash and the other very dry. We had the opportunity to see both sides of the Island to understand why Galapagos it is still a living laboratory in motion.
