We have been cruising all night long. Last night we were on the western side of the archipelago, Isabela and Fernandina. Now we are here at the most central island of this beautiful place, the island of Santiago. Early in the morning we anchor at Espumilla Bay where the plan is to get all the explorers ready to disembark before breakfast. This first option of the day will be a fast pacing walk with a great chance to see awesome landscape.
After breakfast we have changed locations and the National Geographic Endeavour is now anchored at Buccaneer Cove. Here we are organizing different options of exploration for the adventurers onboard. We begin with glass bottom boating along the coast where visibility could not be better to see all the marine attractions. Following this option, kayakers have the opportunity to ride the kayaks along great topography where the bird watching is intense. Finally, deep water snorkeling gives an opportunity to get close ups of the tropical fish, reef sharks, and rays.
After lunch and a great Darwin talk, all explorers onboard are ready to disembark at Puerto Egas, the next visitor site. It is a fantastic walk taking place in one of the most magical tidal areas in Galapagos. Along the walk we have all kinds of animals close to us: iguanas, sea lions, snakes and birds of different species. In the end we got close to a Galapagos fur seal and a short eared owl, which was the end to a great day. Everyone here is thankful for the good photography opportunities and relaxation that the day provided. One more day of this awesome expedition.
