Today we started our day in Colombia. We visited two of the most remote villages in this country, right at the border of Panama. We had the privilege of walking from the last village of Panama, called “La Miel,” to the first village in Colombia, Sapzurro.

To get to Sapzurro, we hiked through the rainforest of El Darien Gap for two miles, passing the border midway. We took a nature walk to a nice waterfall. At the end, we made it to our beach station, where local fruit juices and snacks were waiting for us.

In the afternoon, we visited the village of Capurganá, where we learned about the history and culture of el Chocho. The highlight was a visit to a school, where children performed popular local dances.
