After a late night adventure crossing the Arctic Circle at Grimsey Island last night, we all had a well-deserved break this morning with a morning at sea. We started the morning with an interesting presentation by Eric, one of our naturalists, talking about the rich history of Iceland. Just before lunch, Madalena took to the stage and gave us a fascinating presentation about the whales we might encounter in the waters surrounding Iceland.

After lunch we arrived at the quaint little town of Seyðisfjörður on the northeast coast of Iceland. Some of us decided to go on a strenuous hike up to the waterfalls above the town, while others went on a beautiful tour of the nearby nature reserve and the coastal cliffs, which were filled with many seabird species.
