Sít Eeti Geiyí, or “Bay in Place of the Glacier,” is my favorite place on our blue planet. It is always an immense privilege to visit Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, and I’m glad to have spent today in the bay.

Over the course of our journey today we observed tufted puffins, mountain goats, Steller sea lions, humpback whales, killer whales, coastal brown bears, and more. Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers are always incredible to behold, and were especially so in today’s bright sunshine. Bits and chunks fell off of Margerie, and we made sure to pay respect to the Grand Pacific Glacier.
