Today is a day of creeks! There’re so many tributaries of the Amazon to visit, and we have limited time. We’ll try to see as much as we can so today we’ll see three of them. To make the most of our day we began early. Before breakfast we got into the water on our skiffs, under the expertise of our local drivers and guides. Every time we go out we feel like staying a little longer, though the food onboard the Delfin II is so fantastically good that we end up wiling to return.
Visiting today all three creeks in different areas of the Upper Amazon gave us some better views of things we had seen before and new things to add to the beautiful things we have seen.
We run into some of the interesting people that live here. We had excellent views of the odd-looking three-toed sloths, and we got to see very well today a strange reptile called caiman-lizard that looks like a cross of both creatures (a caiman and a lizard) that feeds on giant snails.
For sure, there’re so many different forms of life here in the Amazon, that it will never cease to surprise us!
