The sails unfurl again to the wind, Sea Cloud II leans slightly to leeward and takes a good course toward northwest. Today is all about the sea and our vessel.
In small groups, we learn how Sea Cloud II works. On the bridge, the First Officer illustrates the instruments used for navigation. At the same time, the Chief Engineer explains how the engine and generators work, the beating hearts of all the services on board. To complete, a group of intrepid people climb along the shrouds of the foremast up to the first masthead. We did not invade the sailors' space. Now we understand their work better, and we feel a bit like sailors, too.
It is with a new spirit that we sit in the lounge of the Lido Deck to attend a concert of symphonic music. Two young sisters give a demonstration of their talent. The silence in the room is total, only the notes rising from the grand piano spread in the air. The applause is loud and sincere. We go to dinner happy for another day spent along the Croatian coast aboard this wonderful tall ship.
