Today we visited two amazing sites of the Galapagos National Park. In the morning, we explored Urbina Bay. Here, we had the chance to put into practice the photographic skills we have learned during the previous days as part of our photo expedition. We had great sightings of endemic birds and reptiles, including a few giant tortoises from Alcedo volcano. When we returned to the ship, we had the honor to hear from Diego Bermeo, the official photographer for the Galapagos National Park, about his different projects combining education, photography and conservation.
After lunch, a magnificent Ecuadorian buffet prepared by our expert chef, we had a hands-on photography session with Jennifer Davidson, who helped all of us to learn more about the different features of our cameras. Later in the afternoon, we sailed north to visit Tagus Cove. Here, a combination of several activities, including kayaking, paddle-boarding and snorkeling, allowed us to enjoy different approaches to the beauty of Isabela Island and its incredible fauna. To end up the day, Brian Skerry shared an inspiring presentation on underwater photography. A beautiful day full of learning and adventure!
