As National Geographic Orion sails north through the notorious Drake Passage, we have definitely been experiencing the “Drake Shake!” While the 7 meter seas have kept us on our toes, they have meant that we have enjoyed the company of many sea birds, which love to soar above the waves of the Southern Ocean. In between bird watching, we have also enjoyed lectures by the expedition staff and have watched the fascinating documentary “Chasing Ice.”
