This morning, we were welcomed into Serui Bay by vessels filled with excited locals. We are the first ship ever to visit this village, and the enthusiasm from everyone was palpable! We spent time visiting in the village and then took a Zodiac cruise through the scenic islands that make up the beautiful waterways of this intricate bay.

Some guests took the opportunity to explore the underwater realm of this bay by scuba diving. We found a beautiful reef that sloped away from shore until it became a wall dropping off into the depths. Our National Geographic guest speakers, Jen Hayes and David Doubliet, joined our divers underwater to capture some images of the beautiful ecosystem. After a lovely morning, everyone returned to the ship for an afternoon of cruising and presentations by our naturalists.
