Today was the first full day of our exploration in the Upper Amazon, and it could not have started better!

At sunrise, we set off on skiffs to explore Clavero Lake, a serene blackwater oxbow lake, home to a vibrant array of birdlife and the mysterious pink river dolphins. We even enjoyed a delightful breakfast aboard our skiffs, surrounded by the beauty of the lake and forest.

In the afternoon, we strolled through an orchard near the Yanallpa community, which happens to be the habitat of the world’s smallest monkey, the pygmy marmoset. After a short walk into the forest, we were excited to spot them, allowing our travelers not only to witness these tiny creatures up close, but also to capture stunning photos. It was truly a magical start to our adventure!
