About halfway out into our Atlantic crossing, we woke up to a wonderfully warm Easter Sunday! Another day of sheer indulgence lay before us. So many choices whether it be reading in the library, chatting with the officers on the bridge, swimming or just topping up the tan!

As the clock struck 11 it was time for our first serious intellectual event of the day!! David Barnes gave us an introduction to the Spanish conquest of the world in the 16th century. Later on in the afternoon Robyn Woodward continued her lecture series with a talk about marine archeology, one of her specialist subjects.

With the sun gradually setting as we continued to steam east, we met in the bar for cocktails and conversation.

Against this backdrop the Head Chef, Mats Loo, and his galley had prepared another delicious meal, this time an Easter barbecue on the pool deck. The galley, as always, excelled themselves in their preparation with a stunning array of salads, meats and in particular, lamb from the Falklands.

With a gentle balmy breeze and the last rays of the day, our Captain and many of his officers joined us, as we sat down and delved into our Easter Meal. Ziggy, our pianist, excelled himself on the accordion, which provided the perfect accompaniment. After our meal, many of us retired to the bar where conversations continued, debates were discussed and a few toasts to St George's Day could be heard from our British contingent. A fitting end to a simply wonderful day.
