Española Island
This morning we anchored at the oldest island in the archipelago, to visit one of the most famous visitor sites. We started our day at 6:30, on the sky deck, when some of our guests joined our Wellness Specialist Isabel for 30 minutes of stretching.
After breakfast we started disembarkation at Punta Suarez, on Española Island, and some of our guests decided to go for a short walk and for a Zodiac cruise along the western coast of this beautiful Island. This place is so unique because we can see endemic animals which are only found on Española Island, but the main attraction were the Waved albatrosses, Española Marine Iguanas, Española Mocking birds, Española lava lizard among many others.
After this amazing morning experience we came back on board, where everyone got to see the sophisticated flying machine: the Waved Albatross. And even our guests who decided not to do the entire trail got to see this amazing sea bird. We had a delicious Ecuadorian lunch as we repositioned our beautiful National Geographic Polaris and some of our guests decided to have a nap. Meanwhile all of our youngest guests joined two of our Naturalist guides to make postcards by themselves, that they will drop off at the famous Post Office Bay barrel tomorrow morning.
We started our outings at 2:45pm; everyone had a different destination, they could choose from many different options. After deep water snorkeling, glass bottom boating, and snorkeling lessons, everyone ended up at this amazing organic white sand beach for relaxing and walking, surrounded by hundreds of Galápagos sea lions.
We started coming back on board to our floating home for this week, with good memories and smiling faces. What a day and what and amazing place Galápagos is.
