The weather was perfect this morning, and we made a wet landing at the Darwin Bay beach. Everyone started to walk and look for the beautiful red-footed boobies that are abundant on the island of Genovesa. As we were taking some pictures, a juvenile Nazca booby, which was in the middle of the trail and apparently sleeping, woke up due to our presence and became playful. One person in our group decided to play with this fearless young bird for a little while, and had the experience of a lifetime.
