Our last day exploring the Upper Amazon began with an early pre-breakfast skiff exploration. A small tributary of the Ucayali River called Iricahua was the place to explore. This narrow stream offered lots of sightings of birds, butterflies, and non-venomous snakes.

As we cruised to our afternoon destination, the galley decided to give us a cooking class. The chef brought out the best recipe for a Peruvian ceviche. Each of our guests had the opportunity to participate in this activity.

In the afternoon, we took the skiffs and visited a varzea forest. One of the trails led to a lovely pond covered with giant lily pads. Lots of pictures were taken of these Victoria Amazonica, especially those in bloom. After this, we explored the Yarapa River. Here, different species of primates were sighted together with lovely birds. It was a great way to end our expedition of the Pacaya and Samiria Wildlife Reserve.
