This morning National Geographic Orion anchored off the island of Ua Huka. After a hearty breakfast we ventured ashore to explore the local area by 4WD and 'Le Truck.

We visited a scenic lookout where the locals were drying copra on a grassy hill. We visited some handicraft markets with some amazing wood carvings. But, the highlight had to be the beautiful wood carving museum which houses the winners of the islands’ annual carving competition.

In the afternoon we boarded the Zodiacs for a Zodiac cruise around a picturesque island that was home to 10,000+ nesting sea birds. As the sky filled with birds above our heads, we instead spent most of the Zodiac tour looking down into the deep blue below us where we found 50+ manta rays swimming gracefully below our Zodiacs.
